It doesn’t seem that long ago that Ladanian Tomlinson was the most explosive running-back in the NFL, stiff-arming safties out of their shoes. Well I suppose I might be stuck in the past a bit. L.T. was one of the greatest and most consistent running backs, that the NFL has ever seen. And I guess that is just it. WAS. While L.T. has still been relatively productive over the last few seasons with the Jets, the past explosiveness just hasn’t been there. This offseason, after trying to latch on with a team for one more run at that elusive SuperBowl title, it became clear that it was time for L.T. to hang them up. Sunday, it was announced by the Chargers that L.T. would sign a 1-day deal with the San Diego Chargers, to retire with the team that he became an NFL legend with.
