Yankees Trade Qualls for Pirates’ McGehee

According to Joel Sherman (via twitter), the Yankees have sent relief pitcher Chad Qualls to Pittsburgh for third baseman Casey McGehee and $250K.
Qualls, 33, has played for both Philadelphia and New York this season pitching to a combined record of 2-1 with a 4.89 ERA in 43 appearances.
McGehee, 29, will likely serve as the primary third baseman to the Yankees as they await an Alex Rodriguez recovery. McGehee is batting .230/.297/.377 with 8 home runs and 35 RBIs this season. His best season was was 2010 with the Brewers in which he hit .285/.337/.464 with 23 home runs and 104 RBIs. McGehee signed a 1yr/$2.54MM deal with the Buccos back on December 12, 2011.
