Cardinals Acquire Edward Mujica

The St. Louis Cardinals have bolstered their bullpen in acquiring Edward Mujica from the Miami Marlins in exchange for third baseman, Zack Cox, tweets MLB Network’s, Peter Gammons.

Mujica, 28, is 0-3 on the year with a 4.38 ERA in 41 appearances and has a 6.0 K/9. Mujica is set to earn $1.625MM this season. He has a career ERA of 4.13.

Cox, 23, is rated as the 88th best prospect in all of baseball. At Triple A Memphis this season, Cox is batting .254/.294/.421 with 9 HR and 30 RBIs. His career minor league average is .289 and peaked a .306 in 2011.
