Padres sign Houston Street to two-year extension

The San Diego Padres have extended their closer, Huston Street reports MLB.com’s Corey Brock.

The deal is for 2yrs/$14MM and their is a $7MM club option for 2015.

Street, 28, has been stellar this season. Through 29.2 innings, he’s pitched to a 2-0 record with a modest 0.91 ERA and 17 saves. He also possesses an 11.8 K/9 this season.

Houston Street’s solid first season with the Padres, has earned him a two-year extension.

Street was traded to the Padres from the Colorado Rockies for cash considerations and a PTBNL (Player to be named later). That player was eventually Nick Schmidt.
