Zack Greinke traded to the Halos

Arguably the best available pitcher on the trading block this summer, Zack Greinke has been traded to the Angels. Greinke, who was in the final year of a 4yr/$38M deal is scheduled to earn $13.5M of that this season.
Greinke, 28, has a career ERA of 3.79 and a career ERA of 1.02 in only two career starts at Angels Stadium.
In getting Greinke, the Angels are getting a former Cy Young winner (2009) and a true ace (not like Jered Weaver wasn’t one already). The rotation will now consist of Jered Weaver, CJ Wilson, Ervin Santana, Dan Haren, and now, Zack Greinke. Deadly.
The Angels had to part with top SS prospect Jean Segura and a pair of Double-A pitchers, Ariel Pena and John Hellweg.
Greinke, back on December 19, 2010, was traded from the Royals to the Brewers in which the Royals acquired Jeremy Jeffress, Alcides Escobar, Jake Odorizzi and Lorenzo Cain. Which package is better? Only time will tell.
With acquiring Greinke, the Angels may be looking to part with incumbent starter Ervin Santana more than ever now and potentially, Garrett Richards.
Jerry Dipoto never ceases to amaze me. Pujols, Wilson, and now, Zack Greinke. Incredible.
